RANAU: Growing commercial activity in Ranau is signalling rising confidence among local and outside entrepreneurs in the district’s economic potential, said Sabah Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun.
Masidi, who is also Finance Minister, said the increasing number of businesses choosing Ranau as their operating base reflected the district’s growing appeal as a centre for residents and tourists.
“The choice of this district as a business location proves that Ranau has a good economy, besides being a destination for residents and tourists.
“At the same time, operators need to ensure that product and service quality is always at its best to ensure business sustainability,” he said.
He said good customer service was among the key factors in building consumer confidence and ensuring businesses remained competitive.
Masidi said food operators, in particular, should ensure their products met the required standards to provide customers with a quality experience and value.
He said the presence of more branded businesses in Ranau could also serve as an example and inspiration for local entrepreneurs to innovate, strengthen their competitiveness and explore business opportunities in other districts across Sabah.
“The increase in commercial activities in Ranau not only gives consumers more choices, but also creates employment opportunities and stimulates the local economy,” he said.
Masidi said this when officiating the opening of Kopi Saigon x Nasi Kak Wok Jee Harris in Ranau town on Saturday.
Masidi, who is also Karanaan assemblyman, said Ranau was increasingly developing as a district with significant potential in the business sector, reflecting its growing economic activity and development.
